Want to protect your garage floor, should I use paint or epoxy?

The garage floor is an important part of the garage, it is where the car is stored while it is not being use. Your treasures are there to stay dry and to stay out of sight from other people. Most garages today are mostly concert. Some garages have been used for a long time and even the floor the cracking and the concert is starting to break apart. What can be done to stop this from happening. Some people say to use paint and others epoxy. Which is right to use? Which one is right for me?

Paint vs Epoxy coating

The epoxy paint is similar to wall paint, there is only one part and it is ready to use as is. With the epoxy coating there is two parts to it,  a polyamine hardener and epoxy resin. It is always best to let the professionals handle the job. If you want it done right, let the pros take care of it. Back to the paint, just as is, the paint will eventually peel and come off and will eventually stain from other liquids. If an epoxy is added to the paint, the paint and epoxy will last longer on the floor.

Let us review- Paint vs Epoxy coating

Paint- Will eventually start to peel and come off. Will stain. Paint dries, not cures.

Coating- Will last for a long time. Does not stain. Easy to clean up spills. Nice to look at, not only for garages also for locker rooms, industrial area, warehouses and other high traffic area. Epoxy coatings are not paint, but instead, strong, durable, and long-lasting layers of protection. They are slip-resistant, versatile, and aesthetically-pleasing. Not only can you choose from a wide range of colors, but you also have the option to add beautiful color, or metallic flakes.

DIY or professional

It is best to have the pros do the work, they understand what needs to be done and done correctly. The price is about $4 per square foot, so it depends on the size of the garage.
